Engineer in Training (Mechanical)
Position Description:
The Engineer in Training will work under the supervision of the company’s professional engineers. The EIT will complete a multitude of tasks such as compiling information, traveling to project sites and communicating with key personnel and customers to help support the successful completion of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compiling reports and delivering information to Engineering team and other team members.
- Completing all tasks established by the Senior Engineer and assisting wherever possible.
- Working towards PE credentials in states served by Hiltz Propane Systems.
- Observing existing strategies and techniques and offering suggestions for improvement.
- Occasionally traveling to job sites and gaining practical experience.
- Working closely with Engineering team to foster professional values and build strong relationships in the Propane Industry.
- Attending meetings and workshops.
Work Environment
Work is occasionally performed outdoors in various weather including heat and humidity. Regular exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Required Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Any on the job training related to mechanical engineering.
- Experience in propane or natural gas would be advantageous.
