Regional Sales Advisor
Position Description:
The Regional Sales Advisor is responsible for regional bulk plant, and service sales through the development and cultivation of relationships with clients. Responsibilities include customer development, creation and response to sales opportunities, and sales finalization through contract execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Regional Sales Advisor include, but are not limited to:
- Establish relationships with new customers, maintain and grow relationships with existing customers.
- Attendance and involvement at Industry conferences, trade shows, and regional gas association meetings.
- Attain a high level of knowledge of existing products and services and keep pace with the evolution of new products and services in the industry.
- Present, promote and sell products/services to existing and prospective customers.
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
- Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
- Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Develop scopes of work, create sales proposals, and follow through to contract execution by customer.
- Conducts regular site visits with new and prospective clients, optimizing time efficiency by strategically scheduling appointments in advance and maximizing the number of locations visited during each trip.
- Works with team members and assists with facilitation of project kick-offs and project planning.
Travel
This position requires 100% travel to cover assigned sales territories.
Required Education and Experience
- Ten or more years of experience in sales related industry.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering or related field.
- Prior experience in bulk propane industry and bulk plant construction.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in business administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- A background in propane or related construction activities.
- Basic Knowledge of propane and related equipment.
- Completed basic CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) or equivalent propane industry training.
- Valid driver’s license.
